What is the Ultrasonic Technology of a Dental Instrument Washer?

Ultrasonic cleaning has many unique and important applications that some industries make use of every single day. One such application can be found in dentistry, where ultrasonic cleaning technology is used to wash the dentist’s metal instruments before and after using them on a patient. As you are no doubt aware from your own trips to the dentist, a dentist or dental hygienist uses things like an electric brush, a small tooth mirror, a small drill and a hose to squirt water. All of these things need to be carefully cleaned on a regular basis.

A dental instrument washer uses ultrasonic waves to remove any particles from the instruments that may have contacted the surface during use. The ultrasonic solution penetrates and disperses anything on the instrument, leaving a clean and polished metal surface that can quickly be sterilized before it is used again.

Although any items cleaned in an ultrasonic washer are technically still not sterilized, a dental instrument washer is the perfect solution for pre-sterilization. The washer limits cross contamination and reduces the amount of handling that needs to be done by other people. All ESMA dental washers are built with stainless steel for easy cleaning and durability. A set of exterior controls tells the operator when the washing process is complete, and allows cleaning to begin with only the touch of a button. Our dental instrument washers are available in several different models, including some that can be installed directly into a counter top.

At ESMA, we are proud of our tradition of innovation. We supply our customers with advanced cleaning solutions that they can use to increase their efficiency and keep up with industry trends. We’ve been in the business of ultrasonic cleaning for over 40 years, which means that you can trust our experience and expertise to provide you with the right product for your application.
